Blogs and such.

Millions and billions of bloggers paint their lives on public spaces everyday.

A mid-tier blogger whom I often read blogs so much about the sunny sides of her life that her readers started to hate themselves for not having what she has.

It definitely wasn't the blogger's intention for her readers feel this way. Yet, however unintentional, she has caused serious self esteem problems to those who follow her closely.

I wish we can just feel happy when we see others with good things. I wish their happiness can make us realize how much we too have in our lives.

I pray that whatever I write in this space would only have positive influences on you.

Hello blogosphere!

Good hair day! Doesn't happen to me often.

Sunny day!

Have you been outside today?

The sun was brightly shining while I did my quiet time (which it the time that Christians spend alone time with God by reading the bible and praying), while I took the long train ride to work, while I took a cab from the train station to my office and while I walked a short distance from the taxi to the office building! :)

Couldn't resist taking some pics under the cheery sunlight.

In the sunlit cab.

In the sun!

Someone once said she loves the sun because when it shines on her, it feels like God is giving her a big warm hug.

I love the sun because it reminds me of God's goodness - "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (Mattew 5:45) It is especially comforting to remember this when I have done something bad and is feeling very guilty over it. Repent and God will be forgive. :)

What about you? What does the sun remind you of?

Anyway, I love the dress that I'm wearing today! A lovely summer frock with slash neckline and frontal pleats:

Long enough for work too! :) Got it from Amber Avenue!

Enjoy your Thursday night, all! :)

Shoe-Shopping.

Let's see...

Tired eyes, happy smile...

Yup, I went shopping last night! Hee.

Dropped boyfriend a message before I left that office yesterday to let him know that I would be meeting my sister for shoe-shopping and his reply was:

"What why are you buying shoes again!"

Heeey, I may have a few pairs sitting untouched in the shoe cabinet but everyone makes shopping mistakes right? :( I always leave shoe shops thinking "yup, I would wear that, its not that high." But it turns out that it is pretty high. And that's not good for me because of this.

Nonetheless, that reply got me on guard - no shopping mistakes this time please! I already don't earn enough!

Okays I take that back, God always gives enough. :)

So, I prayed and prayed for wisdom to buy the right shoes and I got these!

Especially happy with the Aldo buy, because 1) it looks nice on my feet, 2) its not that high (sounds dangerously familiar but it really isn't!) and 3) that salesperson was really a joy to shop with. Good service is so hard to come by these days. The Nine West and Steve Madden people sulked in an instant once I said no the pairs I tried on. Not nice at all. Shop at Aldo, Raffles City everyone!

A big thank you to my sister Ling, for letting me drag her from store to store just to find the right fit!

Many people would kill die do something extreme to have a sister like you. :) Haha.

Thank God for good buys and good company!

End of lunch time; back to work!

Have a good day everyone! :)

P.S. Loving the details on my soft chiffon dress today from MDS Collections!

Pretty in Flats.

My only pair of strappy flat sandals just got utterly ruined by the rain two days back. And there's this thing about my feet that keeps daily heel-wearing an impossibility - they've got unsually high archs! Putting too much pressure on the balls of my feet gives me swollen heels that take days to heal.

I almost managed to get a permanent medical certificate while I was schooling in Junior College, which would get me off all physical activities. The doctor got my hopes up and then finally decided that I can still run with the arch. As you can tell, I'm no athelete.

Anyways, with this arch problem, I try to stay off heels as much as I can, even on formal occasions like weddings and stuff!

I've been hunting for inspiration for my next pair of flats. It ain't no mean feat to find a pair of flats that works well for work and other formal occasions. :( But still, I found a few lovely looks online:

Alexander Mcqueen

Stella McCartney

Christian Louboutin

Diane Von Furstenberg

J. Crew

Miu Miu

Roberto Cavialli

Sigerson Morrison

Especially love the pair from Miu Miu! Big on nudes lately, just like the rest of the world.

Now, I just need time and good company for some serious shopping!

Jet-Setting.

Its been 4 months since the Bali trip in December and I'm feeling restless again! So many people have already made holiday plans and I'm itching to book myself a trip too.

Its funny, I never liked travelling when I was in my previous job, which required me to fly once a month. Now that I'm out of it, I seem to love going away! It isn't a case of discontentment though... flying for work and flying for leisure are entirely different experiences. When you fly for work, you work 24/7. When you fly for leisure, you play and rest 24/7!

Going to HK with sister in June and I CAN'T WAIT. *bounces on seat with excitement* Travelling with family rocks 'cos there's really nothing much to get used to. We've had the worst fights and best heart-to-heart talks. Thank God that I have a friend in my sister. :) Its a blessing that I really cherish.

Back to travelling plans, there are plans for a trip to Aussie for all the '86-ers from church. 5 of us, a nice number for car rentals. :D Can't wait for that too! I've been to Aussie when I was in primary school but I remember almost none of it now. I've got the memory of a goldfish. :(

Anyways, boyfriend and I were talking about travelling over dinner yesterday and he kept harping on wanting to travel alone in June and I don't know why but I started crying. I suppose I felt worried but even I was amazed when the tears just flowed without warning. Sometimes I cry so easily!!! Must be pms.

So I just sat there and teared for about 20 seconds while chowing on my bah chor mee. It was a ?! moment mixed with a good amount of embarrassment. Who cries in public while eating bah chor mee?!

*smacks self*

Oh and happy easter! :)
Here's my favourite song on Jesus' glorious and joyous resurrection:

It's indeed worthy of celebration. :)

Thank you Jesus!

Good Friday.

is good because Jesus took our punishment and freed us from the grasp of sin.

its a gift for everyone and anyone. Have you claimed yours yet?

---

Our gift for parents' day this year is a fun project: a CD with 8 of our favourite worship songs, music by the talented people from church and vocals by us! :)

We spent an hour today recording the music tracks with music prodigy Huey. Minus the time to set up the recording system and settle down, she took only 20 mins to finish 5 beautiful piano tracks! In her own words, "God created me so He's the real prodigy."

Indeed He is. :)

We'll record the 3 guitar tracks tomorrow after service and the vocals *gulp* next sunday at John's with his power song system (which he usually charges $40 per hour for!).

Thanksgiving to God for planting the idea in our heads, for providing the people and equipment to make it work and also for the gift of music. :)

Shall upload the songs on youtube when we're done kays! Must pray for good voices on recording day. :)

---

It was a Good Friday well spent.

Thank God for everything!

Time for bed!
